THE ROW FOR SUPERGA- DIY
Season after season when I want to wear a sneaker, but still look chic the Superga is my go to. When Superga and The Olsen twins collaborated about a year ago, they made the sneaker even more appealing by adding gold accents instead of the usual silver ones. I immediately ran to purchase them. Woahh stop right there – $250 vs. $50 for the original version? I knew I could make them myself for a quarter of the price….and I did!!
- Remove the laces.
- Carefully paint the silver grommets and the plastic end portion of the laces (paint dries fast!)
- After the paint has dried lace up your shoes however you like, I chose this straight bar lace pattern here.
PINK ARMOR NAIL GEL COAT – $9.99
My mom introduced me to this base coat & top coat a couple weeks ago and I already see an incredible difference in overall strength of my nails. I have tried so many different kinds of base & top coats, but none have stood out quite like Pink Armor Nail Gel – it’s a manicure game changer! It can be used for both top & base, dries fast, and keeps polish on way past the usual chip expiration – 3 days (without Pink Armor) vs. 8 days (with Pink Armour). By your second or third manicure you should feel a significant change in nail strength, I definitely did. Happy polishing!
ALBA BOTANICA – NATURAL HAWAIIAN KUKUI NUT BODY OIL- $10.50
I first discovered this magical oil during a trip to Whole Foods Body in NYC. I have always been a fan of Alba Botanica for their natural, organic, and cruelty-free product lines; this particular body oil quickly became my all time favorite. The smell is out of this world- $11 later you’ll feel like you’re on a luxury tropical vacation every time you use it! I usually mix the Kukui nut oil with a fragrance free lotion - Kiehls Creme de Corps or CeraVe. I find that the oil absorbs quickly and the powerful ingredients give my skin an extra boost of moisture!
ALMAY INTENSE i-COLOR LINER in BROWN TOPAZ- $7.00
I have tried just about every eyeliner out there gel, liquid, pencil, expensive, inexpensive, waterproof, smudge proof….you name it! While there have been some I have liked (for a month or two until they dry out or become too short to sharpen) there is only ONE eyeliner that I just cannot stop going back to. Almay’s Intense i-Color Liner in Brown Topaz is the perfect bronze shade with lasting power that rivals any luxury brand eyeliner on the market!
I wear contacts so it can be a blurry and messy nightmare when eyeliner bleeds from my lash line into my eyes. No bleeding here girls! This hypo-allergenic and smudge proof formula applies easily to the lash line and comes pre-sharpened so it’s a makeup kit must! For a nighttime look I thicken the line and add a wing for drama. Done and Done.
Almay Intense i-Color comes in 3 other shades: Puple Amethyst, Black Pearl, and Raisin Quartz.
ALTERNA CAVIAR CC CREAM – LEAVE IN HAIR TREATMENT- $25.00
Fall is here, but that doesn’t mean your strands can’t keep that sun kissed summer glow! If you’re looking for a sulfate and paraben free product with tons of hair care ingredients THIS IS IT. (Moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, UV protection, manageability, strength, anti-breakage, heat protection and light hold.)
I also love the smell- TIP: Purchase hair products with a fragrance you LOVE, it will make you want to use it more and when your perfume fades you’re hair will still smell great!
HOURGLASS – VEIL MINERAL PRIMER – $52.00
Makeup primer is not always a staple in everyone’s beauty arsenal, but it sure is in mine! Primers help form a barrier between makeup and skin, smoothing the skin’s surface for even and long lasting makeup application. I admit to splurging on this Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer, but it’s worth it to me because it does all of the above and has the extra bonus of SPF 15 sun protection. My t-zone is no longer a 30 min. oil time bomb and I’m not frightened to look in a mirror after a night out dancing with my friends. What more could a girl ask for?!
TIP: Hourglass makes an $18 travel size version, so you can see for yourself if it’s worth it!
A more affordable option that I have used and liked is Smashbox’s Primer in Photo Finish Light.
